BlueKolding Water
Christiansfeld's water plant was inaugurated on June 20, 2019. BlueKolding is responsible for supplying water to Christiansfeld under the name BlueKolding Water.
The area where the water plant is located has provided clean drinking water to Christiansfeld since the town was founded in 1773. BlueKolding marks this by introducing the concept of “World Heritage Water”, aiming to remind locals, tourists, and other visitors of the unique aspect that Danish groundwater can still be pumped directly from the ground and into the faucets. With the concept of World Heritage Water, we also want to highlight the need to appreciate and protect the fantastic resource that our groundwater represents.
The water is pumped up from the ground at depths of 111, 114, and 125 meters. The wells at the site were established in 2002, 2004, and 2018, with wells around the water plant dating back to 1932. The water is passed through closed sand filters into our tanks. The purification process takes place in the sand layers. Afterward, the water is pumped into two buffer tanks, each with a capacity of about 250 m3, from where it is distributed through pipes to consumers.
